Summary

To grab recruiters’ attention, you should head your resume with an introductory paragraph which summarizes the skills and experience that make you perfect for the roles you are applying for.

For the best results, keep your summary short and sharp so that busy recruiters can read it quickly, and keep the information very high-level and tailored to your profession.

Work experience

Your work experience gives you a great opportunity to showcase your talents, so be sure to pack it with plenty of examples of how you apply your skills in the workplace.

Start with your most recent job and work back towards your oldest – cutting off any really dated or irrelevant roles.

Structure your roles well to allow easy reading by employers and recruiters. Start by heading the roles with an overview outline, then bullet point your responsibilities within each job.

Try to finish each role with some impressive achievements you have made and add numbers to quantify them.

Qualifications

Add your education and qualifications in a simple list font and make the most relevant ones prominent to show recruiters you have the right knowledge for your target jobs.

Quick tip: Research your target jobs thoroughly and try to reflect the key candidate requirements throughout when writing your resume.
