Work

Let's be honest, due to Covid-19, most of us have a lot of spare time on our hands right now, so why not fill it with a job? You might think that while you’re stuck at home it's impossible to earn money, but now more than ever there are plenty of work from home jobs waiting to be snatched up! Here are our favourites that are sure to pocket you some (most likely) much-needed cash…

Remote Tutor

Tutoring is the perfect way to put your favourite skills to good use, and doing it from home makes it that little bit better! If you have good knowledge or a passion for a certain subject, then you may as well earn some cash while doing it, right?

So, why should you become an online tutor? The best perk for tutoring, especially remotely, is that you can work whenever you like! As a tutor, you will be able to schedule your own meetings, meaning you can fit it around that all-important Netflix binging. Also, it is a hugely rewarding experience as you get to see your students grow and ace their exams. On top of all of this, the pay is very tempting too, which means that you don’t even have to work lots of hours to get a nice bit of extra cash. Just ensure that you know what you’re talking about and you’re good to go!

Online Marketer

Becoming an online marketer is a great way to show off your creative skills in a professional environment, but what actually is it? There are many different aspects to online marketing, but main responsibilities include things such as controlling social media accounts and increasing brand visibility. Most companies require some sort of online marketing team, so you won’t have to look too far to find an open position! Also, training is usually provided, so don’t worry if you don’t have experience.

Of course, as in the name, this job can mostly be done online so there are no problems getting stuck in at home right away! As long as you’ve got a computer and a creative mind, you should have no problem securing a job as an online marketer!

Blogger

Becoming a blogger is one of the most versatile jobs out there as you can write about anything you want! Whether it is fashion, food, travel or coding, there is a huge audience out there just waiting to read your blogs! The most important thing to look for when writing for an online audience is that you have a passion for the subject, as you won’t be motivated to do the writing if you don’t really care for it.

Becoming a blogger is just the start of becoming a freelance writer; this is where you can get paid to write specific blogs for companies. Or, if you prefer, you can build your own online presence and get paid through advertisements. Either way, becoming a blogger is a great way to earn some extra cash on the side, all from the comfort of your own home.

Coder

This job is probably the most obvious one when it comes to working from home, as well, all you need is a computer! It might not be for everyone, but if you think you’ve got that magic touch when it comes to coding, why not give this a try! Nowadays, nearly every business needs some aspect of coding within their company, whether it is creating a new software or designing a website, your skills will come in handy to them!

Or, if you’ve never given coding a go, why not try learning! There are plenty of free-to-use tools online so that you can grasp the basics quickly and easily - YouTube is probably the best place to start. If you do decide to become a coder, companies will give you certain tasks to complete in a timeframe and you will most likely be part of a team! You will get paid to make friends, what’s not to love?

Remote Translator

Becoming a translator can be one of the most exciting jobs out of the bunch, as it will lead you onto many international journeys! Like remote tutoring, you will be aiding people online by translating conversations for them. You will most likely be hired by a company to attend virtual business meetings to translate from one language to another, so of course, make sure you are fluent in at least two languages before applying!

If you do decide to become a translator for a company, when lockdown is over they may offer some exciting potential work opportunities. You could be sent over to China to help translate business meetings in person! What are you waiting for?

So, if you’re stuck at home with nothing to do, why not start earning some extra cash? It will definitely come in handy once lockdown is over! Goodluck and have fun!
