So I’ve created these 3 cover letter templates that you can copy and paste into your applications and emails…
Use them as a base and feel free to make any edits you need to suit your situation.
Template 1 – Messaging a recruiter
When approaching a recruiter to apply for a job, you should also begin to start building a relationship with the recruiter in question.
If they recruit in to your field, it will be worth getting to know them, as they will probably have more suitable jobs on offer.

I would like to apply for the role of (role name) that you have advertised.
I’m currently working for (company name) as a (profession) and have plenty of experience in (add relevant experience & qualifications from job advert). However I am now looking for a new challenge and feel I could bring a lot of value in this position.
I am available to speak or meet this week if you need any more information and would also be interested in hearing about any other (profession) roles with (types of firm) in the (location) area.
Template 2 – Applying to the company directly
When applying to a company directly, you can make your message a little more targeted and even show some admiration for the company.
I am interested in applying for the current vacancy you have for a (insert).
I my current role as (role title) with (company name) I am responsible for (insert relevant experience relating to job advert) but am currently looking to make a step up into a more challenging role with a reputable company who can offer career growth.
I am currently on a notice period of (notice period) and can interview immediately.
Template 3 – Applying with little or no relevant experience
You will not always have all the exact experience required for every role, but that shouldn’t put you off applying.
If you have some relevant transferable skills, or are working towards any of the requirements, then highlight these points to gain the readers interest.
I am interested in applying for the role of (role name)
Although I do not have any direct (profession) experience, I have gained plenty of skills in (add relevant transferable skills) from (add work or education where skills gained), which could instantly add value to the role.
I am also working towards (add any training being undertaken) and have will be fully qualified by (add qualification date)
